We do not confirm the accuracy of this reporting, but it is irrelevant for us to go into the details of the events that took place.
SPHR UBC would like to emphasize and re-emphasize again that these events should not in any way, shape, or form, be associated with SPHR. SPHR believes in every person's inalienable right to security and protection against the destruction of personal property and furthermore has a strong policy against anti-semitism, racism, and violence. SPHR UBC has always maintained a strong policy against any type of harassment, and has always had a non-confrontational, non-violent approach. Once again, SPHR UBC does not condone any type of violence or confrontational approach.
Although the incident concerned involves one of our members and was associated with Palestine, we are not responsible for the actions of all of our members, and the actions and views of each member do not represent the views of SPHR. As a club with several hundred members, it would be impossible to take responsibility for each of our members, and we are only responsible for the actions of our executive team, none of whom were involved in this incident. We do however ask that our members always maintain a strong sense of moral calibre and if they are acting as representatives of SPHR, they are expected to uphold SPHR's standards of equality, anti-racism, and non-violence.
We would therefore like to ask that SPHR UBC not be associated with the happenings of Saturday and not be contacted in regards to this specific incident. To learn more about SPHR UBC, please visit our website at www.sphr.org or email us at
