Residents of Kitchener-Waterloo invite you to stand as a community to simply remember and reflect upon the tragedy of Gaza 's innocent children. Stripped of any political, nationalistic, or religious views, we will stand in solidarity, with our humanity being our common factor. Our message to the world is the fact that human blood is sacred, and especially that of children whose futures are being threatened.
Date: Friday, February 6, 2009 Time: 5:00pm - 6:00pm Location: Infront of Kitchener City Hall Street: 200 King Street West City/Town: Kitchener, ON
On the dawn of December, 27th, Gaza was stormed with a continuous chain of strikes from all directions that left over 1,300 dead and 5,000 injured. Amongst the most tragic of these losses were the heart-shattering loss of hundreds of children and the injury of over a thousand children. Constituting one of the most inhumane offenses against defenseless children in years, the offensive has left the children of Gaza wounded both mentally and physically, under the silent world's watch.
The program will begin by a short march, a moment of vigil under candles' lights, and will end with a brief message to the community. We strongly encourage you to join us and invite your family and friends. It is moments like these that make us appreciate our Canadian values, and reflect upon how fortunate we are to live in this corner of the world. Please join the facebook group and invite people to come: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=59961547497&ref=nf In Solidarity, SFPR Waterloo |
