The author of 5 books and one on the way, Dr. Norman Finkelstein will be joining us at UBC on J a n u a r y 2 1 s t , 2 0 0 9 @ UBC in WOOD 2 at 6:30pm
He's Jewish and the son of holocaust survivors. This past summer he was banned from entering Israel for another ten years- on the basis that he was a security threat. He was denied tenure at Depaul university, and has continuously battled Alan Dershowitz. He's probably one of the most controversial and well known activists on the Israel-Palestine scene. His staunch criticism of Israel, and surprisingly friendly views towards Hezbullah have earned him the love and hatred of many. He's the author of five books and numerous articles, including "Beyond Chutzpah: On the misuse of Anti-Semitism and the Abuse of History", "The Rise and Fall of Palestine", and "Image & Reality of the Israel-Palestine Conflict", and "The Holocaust Industry". His lecture will be on what we can learn from Gandhi in regards to the Israel & Palestine conflict, and how to apply Gandhi's theories.
There will also be a question and answer session along with a brief book signing. The event will take place in Woodwards 2, also known as the Instructional Resource Center.

We will be there from 9am-4pm.
NOTE: All proceeds from this event will be going towards the costs of the event
and the club's expenses to fund future events and activities- not to any other external organization.
All reserved tickets must be paid for and picked up by January 19th and we cannot guarantee them after this date.
