In celebration of the International Women's Week, Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights at Carleton University presents Laila El-Haddad in the lecture entitled:  A Mother from Gaza.

Laila describes herself as a "journalist, mom, occupied Palestinian-all packed into one" who writes for al-Jezeera and the Guardian and has her own blog called "Raising Yusuf." She lives in Gaza with her family and her little boy, but often travels to the United States, where her sons father lives because he was refused citizenship by the Israeli government.

Laila reports from Gaza or North Carolina about issues related to Palestine, including right of return, the political atmosphere, and basic rights among others.
